Usage Insights 401 Error

Steps to resolve a 401 authentication error in Informit Insights

Informit Insights uses browser cookies to authenticate your account and determine if you are authorised to view usage data.

If cookies are blocked or restricted by your browser, the authentication process may fail and the following 401 error may be displayed.

How to resolve the issue

Try the following steps:

  1. Enable third-party cookies in your browser.
  2. Clear your browser's cache and cookies.
  3. Close and reopen your browser.
  4. Sign in to Informit again and attempt to access Insights.

If the issue persists

If you continue to receive a 401 error after completing the steps above:

  1. Confirm that you are signed in with the correct individual account.
  2. Ensure you have permission to access Insights for your organisation.
  3. Try accessing Insights using a different browser or private browsing window.
