Database selection

Select or deselect databases for your search

Video demonstration

See below for a quick video overview on how to select and deselect databases for searching.

Default Database Selection

When you start a search, it automatically includes all active databases available to your institution.

Note: Archive index databases are not selected by default. See the instructions below to include them in your search.

Searching Specific Databases

Step 1
Click Change Databases on the home page or the advanced search screen.

Step 2
Choose the databases you wish to narrow your search to. The selection options are categorized for your convenience under Browse by Type or Browse by Name.

You can individually select or deselect the checkboxes; or choose Select all, Clear all or Select databases I have access to.

Note:

Archive index databases are not selected by default. To include records from these databases in your search, select the Archive Abstract / Index Databases check box or select individual databases.

Alternatively you can click on Select databases I have access to. Then click on the Use selected database button.

What do the database numbers mean?

The numbers shown next to the Change Database button indicate the number of databases you are searching.
