Informit has made the decision to discontinue indexing the Australian Public Affairs Information Service (APAIS)
As part of our ongoing commitment to simplify and improve the Informit search experience,
enhancements to Informit databases will be implemented from April 2025. Users conducting systematic queries may notice changes in their result sets due to these updates.
Affected Customers
Customers who:
- Subscribe to APAFT (Australian Public Affairs Full Text)
- Do NOT subscribe to our comprehensive index collection
Key Updates
- Removal of Duplicate Records
- Duplicate records from full-text databases, primarily for publications indexed since 2012, will be removed in April 2025.
- This change addresses an anomaly introduced during a platform upgrade in 2020. This will significantly improve the user experience.
- Improved Search Experience
- Older abstract-only records (pre-2005), created for the APAIS database by the National Library of Australia, will be removed from full-text databases.
- These records will remain accessible through the APAIS archive database:: Informit
